Parapan makes a splash with unique storage benches

Parapan is not only the ideal material for doors, drawers, panels and splashbacks but has huge potential for creative applications throughout the home or workplace.

Treemark, a specialist in producing original fitted and free standing designs, recently used Parapan to create unique and stylish storage benches for a new swimming pool.

The Nottingham-based company was chosen to make a small kitchen and WC area for a newly-built swimming pool enclosure in Leicestershire for a local architect’s client.

Treemark picked Parapan as it’s a solid acrylic that is extremely durable, non-porous, easy to clean and very versatile. Parapan can be cut to bespoke sizes and thermoformed into curves for rounded cupboards, can be fitted with any style of handle or with a choice of integrated finger pulls and edge treatments. The ‘mirror–like’ quality of Parapan also makes it the perfect complement for other surfaces where a variety of textures and colours is required.

As well as the kitchen and toilet area, Treemark also chose Parapan to create two storage benches for the main pool area to house all the pool inflatable’s and floatation aids.

Mark Soroczyk, director at Treemark, said: “We were originally commissioned to make a small kitchen and WC area for a swimming pool so we recommended using Parapan due to its durability and its resistance to water. Then, after discussing the qualities of Parapan, we were asked us if we would make two storage benches as well.”

“We contacted a local steel fabricator to make the frame which was then clad with Parapan for the lid and we used solid Beech slats hinged with stainless steel gas struts.”

Parapan is available in 4mm and 18mm thickness in 17 colours.
